Re: Chrome oddities

I'm already sick to my stomach (vommitting). When Indian Motocycles (yes I spelled it correctly) in 1930, a Toronto dealer ordered a four cylinder in all chrome. The original pictures exist. ...

Good luck, have you joined the Woody Wagons Special Interest Group, affiliated with MARC and MAFCA? It's a great start.

Re: Black A's were rare?

CT Mike, I misread your initial post. The statement in the Paint Guide means that bodies supplied by outside builders like Briggs and Murray were more likely to be black as opposed to bodies made in...

Re: Black A's were rare?

Black was uncommon in 1928. FoMoCo downplayed the color. It was available as an option from start of production until the 1930 models were introduced. These cars through end of production were...

Re: model A towncar

ronn, I'm drinking beer but I will try to be tactful. If you really want a Town Car, try to meet the people who have real ones. Eventually, circumstances change and things come for sale. These...

Re: Any 29 Business Coupe owners here?

I have a restored oval, 3/29/29. It was the Henry car at the 1994 meet. I had nothing to do with the resto. I doubt there is a better restored one. There are two more in the Chicago area that I know...

Re: The Lee Roy Hartung Collection Auction = Chicago

Pete, this is an unbelievable pile. Not only A's but early V8's. The m/c stuff is tremendous. I'm going for the Henderson parts that are buried.

Re: Not Model A-NASCAR Diecast shows up at my door

Hey Will, if that drop floor does over 75 we'll have to strip it down on pit row for illegal speed parts:D. Congratulations on the model. I really appreciated seeing the pics and listening to your...

Re: Quail loose

Clem, get a hold of Doc Kalinka. Howard Minners will have his phone #. Doc has restored a bunch of quails and he will probably give you good guidance.

Re: Quail loose

Clem, I know you want a serious answer here but I can't resist. As an old career military man, as I am, I know in your travels you saw a lot of loose quails.:D

Re: Why two Model A clubs?

RcT, I haven't been a chapter member for years. I don't like to drive in a parade and would rather stop at a shot and beer joint as opposed to eating an ice cream sundae. However, the national...

Re: Why two Model A clubs?

Mendotaman, several years ago Betsy was featured on the cover of the Restorer with an article by the latest owner. I'm sure someone will post the issue.

Re: 1929 Business Coupe

They would not be hard to make. I'm sure you could get a blueprint from the Ford Archives. Perphaps someone could supply you a pattern. Mine are in a car so I can't give you exact dimensions.

Re: Why two Model A clubs?

Bill Hall (MARC) and Red Grow (MAFCA) are generally recognized as their clubs' respective "founders". I grew up in CT where Hall started MARC and CMARC (the first Chapter) and knew some of the...

Re: Source of Nickel Plated Screws

Hunter, Will's advice is very correct. I believe you are doing a fine point car and therefore you may have to "bite the bullet" as Will is doing. I'm pulling my hair out wrt original wiring for two...

Re: Nr. 1 Model A engine

I have looked at this photo and believe it was a photo op after the start of production. I have three engines, A189, A435 and A566 that all have the large low pad you refer to from Pluck's material....
