Yes but 1922 when 1/2 the cars on the road were Fords, but market trends were changing, the other half had 3 speed transmissions, 2 wheel brakes (rear) and distributors, and that other 1/2 was made...

April 12, 1940! :) Just because the selling price was maybe low, does not mean it was cheaply made. Pre WW2 so could have been a good grade of iron used.

Re the temper thing, what I have been told is; once the brace has been heated that hot needs to be re-tempered. Spring shops can do that. The braces need to be springy too, they are not just big...

I have a Model T engine that I just pulled down with the same issue, but in my case, one of the spring keeper pins had gone missing, so one of the intake valves was floating allowing oil to be pulled...

Nope. Without them in hand or photos, no one can see what they are to even start guessing. T's didn't have shocks. You will have to take them off and try to do some serching on line to see if you can...

The Portland Swap meet has the same rules re driving on the grounds during the meet. There are plenty of kids earning a few bucks that will haul your stuff back to your space or the pickup holding...

When you first set the timing, it should be the same as stock A if all the other parts are stock except the head. After that depends on where it runs best.

Re tours: Everyone gets a tour award that goes on club tours, a small refrigerator magnet with the year on it. If club puts on 10 tours and you get for example 7 tours, you get a little better...
