Re: Directional signal question

GB, I think the bub in those switches are 12 volt. Just change to a 6 volt bulb. Usually the spokes on the steering wheel block the light n the switch. I made a small panel that bolts under the dash...

Re: Floor shift in 53 f-100

Why would you want to put in a floor shift? It's just one more place where hot air and fumes can enter the cab.

Re: 1940/41 truck hoods

When the hood design changed to accommodate the 6 cylinder, that hood design was used on all the half ton models.

Re: Directional signal question

Follow the instructions. The cold side of the brake switch is correct. The internal switching in the turn switch transfers the electricity to the rear for the brake and turn signals. I'm sure you...

Re: Antique Insurance a little off Topic

I've had Grundy for years. Had two cars('40 Fords) damaged in the last big earthquake. Grundy sent out an adjuster and they covered all the damages. Their rates are way less than the big companies...

Re: Pat McFarlane RIP

Pat was a true gentleman and a loyal member of the Early Ford V-8 Club and a supporter of the Early Ford V-8 Foundation. Had the pleasure of judging with him at a couple of V-8 National Meets. Pat...

Re: 1940 Ford Steering Wheel

Any Ford wheel from 32-48 will fit your truck. I think a Model A wheel may fit also,

Re: Price of cars down, price of parts up

Our first house was $12,000 in 1964. A rebuilt flathead by a reputable builder can reach that price in today's market. My wages in those days were $298 a month(gross) and the house payment was $68 a...

Re: Old Henry

Craig probably put more miles on that old sedan in 4 or 5 years than most of us will in our lifetime. He was a true family man and a dog lover. I have a lot of respect for him.

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options

There's probably no one standing in line for this car. Offer $750 and see where it goes. I'll bet you will own it. Those old four door cars are not in high demand. If you live in the Spokane area ...

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options

As I reread your post it appears that you are only looking at photos from the seller and have not actually seen the car. As new potential buyer NEVER by something from photos only. You need to see...

Re: Silicone brake fluid

Never heard that one before. Where did that info come from? I've used Dot 5 for years and never heard anyone say it was hard on rubber.

Re: 56 F100 drum brakes on 32

The F-100 brakes will fit if you have the 37-48 spindles. You need to make an inner bearing and seal change. I've done this before and it does work well. As Charlie says it also depends on your...

Re: Steering Wheel Identification?

Not an early Ford wheel. It is for splined shaft and not a key way shaft(photo #2). Looks like something from General Motors.

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options

Good advice from Seth. A good tudor of that vintage is not hard to find and can save you money and time in the long run. As others have said buy the 41-48 Ford book from the Early Ford V-8...

Re: Anyone with experiences working with Gocat speed shop?

I agree Mike this guy is a "fraudster" and those that have been scammed need to file numerous complaints with Josephine county D.A. or the state attorney general's office for consumer complaints....
