Re: 1940 Ford Tudor Trunk Cardboard

At one time you could get the correct pebble grained cardboard precut for the trunk. Is that still available and where? I want a set for my 40 along with a correct set of cowl/kick panels with the...

Re: Finding original options / paperwork

Wow - that's the first one I've seen from a full size 56. And I've been collecting broadcast/ROT sheets from 57-up Tbirds for almost 40 years.

Re: Been thinking about the Thunderbird Forum

JimNNN - a little history/"back-story" may be in order here. VTCI (originally Vintage Thunderbird Club of America) had its original focus on '58-'60 when started in 1968, then expanded into the...

Re: Been thinking about the Thunderbird Forum

I'm VERY biased on this one, as you can tell by my signature. While you do not have to be a dues-paying member of VTCI to participate in the VTCI Forum, I do want to go on record and bring to...

Re: Scam ---

Our T-bird club president's address was hacked and I get requests like that on a somewhat frequent basis. Hit 'delete' and move on. Long story short - I don't trust any 'sob stories' or requests for...

Re: 1967 Mercury Park Lane - What Auto Trans is fitted?

I just happen to be knee-deep in researching the topic of Warner Gear cast-iron FX/MX/LX automatic transmission usage in '50s-'70s Ford/Merc/Lincoln/Truck lines. As noted above, 410s in '67 only used...

Re: 62 Bird Tire/tube combo

If there's a source for liners for the original 14" K-H wires I'D HAVE LOVED TO KNOWN THIS SOONER!! The work-around for years has been to provide a "cushion" between the tubes and spoke nipples using...

Re: How to Spot a fake 1955 Convertible???

Also be aware that the '55 Victoria (NOT Crown) has a taller vent window frame and windshield than the Crown and Convertible models. The windshield in a Victoria (Body code 'V' / Model '60') is the...

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

For everybodys' education, what was pictured appears to be a '64 version with stamped steel front housing and a band clamp holding the halves together: this is what's often used for a replacement....

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

As Kultulz asked, we need more details - where'd you get it from, any info like did they have a part number or description of the kit, are you using the original Midland-Ross brake booster or...

Re: 1962 Thunderbird Ball joint Question

Why not go direct to those vendors that specialize in post-'57 T-birds like The Bird's Nest, Pat Wilson, etc? I wouldn't go to Summit for T-bird-specific parts, especially if you don't know what to...

Re: '65 T-Bird fuel pump

The indentations are for the filter tool. If it has the original canister it will also look like it has a pair of stacked gears on the bottom (an homage to the Ford Rotunda building and Ford's...

Re: Material for Ranch Wagon upper control arm splash guards

Masticated tire casing or cotton-reinforced rubber sheet (?). Try Steele Rubber or a local rubber supply house.

Re: 1949 Ford 8n Tractor

Please be more specific - which "Ford Gray"? And are you restoring a 9N/2N or 8N? If a 9N/2N, are you going back to the original "battleship"/dark grey monochorme look used from '39-'47, or the...

Re: 1949 Ford 8n Tractor

NTractorClub's and yesterdaystractors.com's 9N-2N-8N message boards are both on my daily "check-in" lists, right up there with the Ford Barn, and a major reason why I don't get squat done at...

Re: 1963 Hot Rod Ford Performance Handbook Ford 406

Those "bolt holes" in a 390/406 block which weren't drilled through were for a mounting fixture, not for the rod caps like on a 427. That fooled me early on, too.

I find the CVA site hard to use because of all the extra security crap. Even though I've been a 30+ year member I hardly go to it, which is sad.

Re: Source for rewiring '57 T-Bird

To clarify, you want someone to provide and install new harnesses? Or are you planning on "bringing your eggs to the cook" and hand off harnesses to an installer? You may want to ask around for a...
