I checked compression and all cylinders are within 2% of each other i think the thing to do it take the intake off and check the baffle and make sure it didn't come loose.

I build the motor. it a 8ba with one piece valve guides has less 500 miles on it.i can look in the through the spark plug hole and see oil around the intake valve

You can always use a vacuum gauge. Just hook it up to the intake manifold and if it reads constant its fine, if it jumps up and down it will tell you if its sticking. You do have to have the motor...

I have to disagree with you on the younger generation not having to know older cars. Im 19 now, but I have restored two vehicles from the ground up, a 1937 ford pickup and a 54 Packard caribbean....

winfield Cam ID?

I am having a hard time finding specs on a certain winfield camshaft. The number that is stamped on it is 7212-12. Any help would be nice since i can't seem to find anything on it.

well now i have it figured out i need to find a new condenser. Does anyone have NOS mallory brass one? It should have a number 36 on the bottom of it.

I finally got it to run. It was between a condenser going bad and the intake manifold plug being loose.
