Re: reduce the charging current on the generator

In your second photo, the moveable third brush is shown. To decrease charging rate, simply move it upwards. No set screw, it slides on a track. I usually can adjust it with my fingers. Careful not...

Re: No Spark--Follow Up

So glad you figured it out and let us know the outcome. Thank you. The before photo looks like this roadster went through a fire? Great restoration!

One more wild guess.. Did you turn the popout connection in tight to the distributor body? If so, it's too tight. A couple turns will do. Otherwise, you can short the buss bar in the lower plate.

Re: No Spark

You mentioned that your ammeter deflected when switch was turned. That's good and indicates that your points were in the closed position. You also mentioned that your ammeter did NOT deflect when...

Re: April 1928 Business Coupe

I bought a November 1928 business coupe a few years ago with plans to restore. Near perfect body, decent fenders, original motor, etc. Still sitting, waiting for me to do something. Is this a...

Re: model b engine swallows

After startup, did you advance the spark by pulling down on the left hand lever on your steering column? Or possibly a plugged high speed carburetor jet? Do you have the B carburetor or the A...

Re: Anyone restored a E28/AR RPU?

Thanks Pluck. That would explain why I've never run across any closed cab pickups earlier than May 1928. I have at home a junk Feb 1928 AA with closed cab and a junk Dec. 1928 closed cab pickup,...

Re: Anyone restored a E28/AR RPU?

So, the first open cab pickups extended the cab sub rails to include supporting the bed? Never knew that. Then in May 1928, they dropped the rear portion of body sub rails and connected the bed...

Re: First trip observations.

e: First trip observations.
IMO, too many people don't make allowances for the fact that these cars are about 90 years old and expect them to perform like one made yesterday. When these were made,...

Re: 3.27 Ring and Pinion

Perhaps not related, but I put a 3.27 ring and pinion in our 35 Ford coupe with a tired engine and iffy radiator. Long story short, it pulled too hard and would overheat on a hot day. Starting out...

Re: Clutch release arm pin removal

We've done a couple here and found that an air chisel with a punch bit will walk that pin right out from the bottom.

Re: Loosen / tighten individual cylinder head nuts?

Re: Easter bunny left some not too nice eggs this morning for me.
