Re: Oil capacity clarification

As an aside, not all sticks were marked as 8RT. I have two identical, one is marked 8RT, one is not.

Re: Ford 59 Carb

It is a Holley 94 variant. The Model 59 is of the same quality as other 94s of the era. A couple of things: make sure it is thoroughly cleaned, if rebuilding; make sure the throttle shaft bore/...

Re: 1935 Ford Marmon Herrington

I would guess the door was purposely removed since the ladder made it inoperable. The rear fender looks to have been modified for mounting the water pipe.
The late 40s early 50s half tons were...

Re: A jailbar woodie on Bring a Trailer

Guessing some folks don’t like the 48-52 F2-3s. Ford got it wrong trying to center rear axle in wheel wells.

Re: Correct paint color for engine parts

^^^^Correct, 53 pickups/trucks did not use the 8RT water pumps. The bellhousing was a one year only affair with cast in ears for mounting to the crossmember.

Re: '48 F1 4 speed trans color

Funny thing, my transfer case was originally black, afaik, as everything else MH added had traces of black. Yet, it has the remains of JD green, as did the original engine. I’m guessing it , along...

Re: '48 F1 4 speed trans color

The T9 in my 52 F3 MH had traces of black on it. Being a 4wd ranch pickup, I’m guessing years of poor roads and off-roading whiped most of the paint off.

Re: Should I convert from 6 volts to 12 volts

New wiring harness and good grounds, good to go. Think about it, these 6 volt systems started cars, pickups, and trucks in the same temps we have now.

Re: dana 41 outer axle bearing upgrade?

The Dana 41in the early Jeeps had a tapered hub, guessing the bearing is different. M series Studebakers had a 41, but I believe those had tapered hubs as well.

Re: 1935 Ford Marmon Herrington

Hmm, another mystery, the shift pattern plate signals a T98 reverse pattern, whilst the hand drawn diagram on the floor board signals a T9, which would be right for a ‘35.
