Still a newbie... my '30 A (late) has a on-off switch but in Les Andrews book and in parts catalog, all I see referenced is pop-out or re-pop switches... mine doesn't pop in and out. I have no idea...

Unhappy Light switch bail won't stay on - ugh!

Installed new light switch from Synders. the light switch is longer than the 'original' but works. This was done while I was installing a new wiring harness. I have the same problem with the switch...

Thanks guys! Yes, it is soldered to the brass pin, but as you said, the wiring connectors can be tighten for a snug fit! I will go with that, (just push on); do not want to risk damaging bakelite....

Again; how to solder the steel wiring connector to brass pin without overheating the bakelite? If you look closely at the second pic, you can see where the bakelite is broken.

Exactly... old bakelite broke apart; can not figure out how to connect wiring to new bakelite... attempting to attach pictures...

Yes, there is a spring load on the brass pin, on the side of the pin that contacts the horn rod in the steering column. I am on the OTHER END of the pin where the wire that runs from the horn...

For lack of knowing the proper name; I am calling it the 'switch head'. (Where the wiring harness wires attach to the black bakelite switch.) There must be some trick to attaching the center wire...

I want to add a reliable turn signal system.
Would prefer one that incorporates existing cowl and rear lighting if anyone makes such......

Red face Interior trim on door window posts?

Restoring interior of my 1930 A, Deluxe Coupe. Not knowing what to call this part of the doors, it is the vertical post of the door surrounding the window. There must be some type of trim to cover...

Thank you, I ordered the clips (50 to a bag) ... so these Clips goes on the 'cardboard', then a layer of cotton batting is glued on... all BEFORE you glue down the wool outer cloth?

Bob, You are a genius! Exactly that! Once I got the plunger unstuck, wow! Have to ask a follow up? Was this a 'stock item' by Ford, or is it more likely a prior owner bolted this on?
