Along these lines my 56 has a floor brace that has been bent in. Not sure weather to just leave it of try and fix it. Sorry for jumping in

Only on the front. Break driveshaft on back it just falls to ground. break is on the front all kinds of nasty things can happen.

IIRC the only adjustment is at the throw out activator arm.

On my floor that was slightly pitted. I cleaned up good with ac wire wheel. then put a coat of Ospho on it and lastly shot epoxy primer over it. That is as far as I have gotten so far.

The manual shows the plunger/dowel being installed on the hood as plunger/spring/bracket/jam nut. On my frankinFord the plunger dowel is non long enough to install that way. I had to put the lock nut...

Put the felt in but did not seem to make any difference. Did notice that at the pass side hinge where the rear cross brace attaches to the skin was loose. So welded it up and helped a lot but still...

Hood seems to have braces. Where the hinge mounts it has cracked in the past and been welded up. See circles in the pic

So got the front clip on my 56SD on. Now I notice there is quite a bit of flex in the hood when open. In other words when open you can push up on one side and the opposite side dips. The hood is bare...
