Could be crud in the gas cap blocking the vent. Next time immediately turn the gas cap. If you hear a swoosh that's the culprit.

Chased this wandering for several years. Changed and checked and fixed a ton of stuff. In the end it was the spring perch nuts. Driver's side took 1.5 turns and passenger's side took 3/4 of a turn....

I used my old ones for patterns and the fit and finish is perfect. Got it all done today. I didn't want to throw the old ones away in case a club member needed to pattern from them. LOL

I'm a hybrid woodworker and have been using it for 6 years or so. It's so nice and sure beats the big box store plywood. So affordable too.

Bought a 60x60 inch sheet of Baltic birch plywood. 15/16. $60. Haven't done measurements but it looks like the sheet may be enough for all the floor boards and toe board for our Tudor (1930)....
