You are not alone. I have a Coker radial tube off my A right now with the same blemish and pinhole leak. And not caused by the inside of the tire.

The back of the clutch finger can also bump the bottom of the inspection cover screw if it is too long or not installed with the lock washer.

If a wireless lower plate was used, such a hard starting condition an occur when the tab rubbing against the bottom plate developed an electrical wear path.

In addition to the long nut mentioned above, make sure the lock washer is behind the nut. Even a missing lock washer can cause the tires to rub the brake rods.

Been almost 2 months I think. Has anyone corresponded with Tom Wesenberg? Don’t remember his trips being this long with surfacing here on the board. Doesn’t seem right.

The easiest method is spray 4 coats of the letter color over the entire plate then 2 coats of the background color. Then lightly sand over the letters with fine sand paper to bring out your color ...
