Re: Fan Belt Squeak

Disagree!

Squeaking is not just caused by slipping fan belt.

The Model Aís generator isnít always in perfect alignment with the other two revolving pulleyís. As the belts age, the edges dry...

Re: Fan Belt Squeak

Try WD40. Just spray a little on belt at top of generator. Very little.

Has always worked for me. No mess. Enjoy.

Re: Speaking of shocks . .

We are fooling our selves here.

You need shocks on you car, end of story.

If you can afford the cost of correct style shocks, they really help the ride. You need to have good springs also.

We have always jacked up one corner at a time. Putting car on jack...

Re: How Old Are Your Tires?

Ours are 18 years old. No sign of any issues. Car is kept indoors, NEVER left in the Sun for any length of time.

Sun, mileage, and abuse. I believe will shorten tire life. Enjoy.

Re: Should I pass on this A? Or would I miss out on something?

It’s a “Hobby”. This is not your 401K.

I would just keep a few things in mind. Brakes, tires, tubes, shocks, springs, front end, wiring, cooling system, and just a working engine/transmission. ...

Happy 90 years old 6/18/29 firewall cars.

Our 1929 Sport Coupe has a firewall date of June 18, 1929. That’s today.

I know it doesn’t mean that was the date of the cars assembly, but for me it’s close enough.

Happy birthday to all...
