Re: I finally edited my windshield replacement video. 1941 pickup.

Gives me an idea what to expect if I ever get around to replacing the cracked front glass in my 39. It never goes out in the rain so I don't know if it leaks.

Re: Nice day for drive

The external mike for the camera will make a big difference. Mine does not have that. Got the "Ram" suction mount and it holds very well to glass or a clean smooth surface.
This one I shot earlier...

Re: Nice day for drive

Thats a great ride along in the Merc. Reminds me a bit of one of my favourite ol movies "The Long Long Trailer". I've got a few music copyright strikes against my videos but its not a problem unless...

Re: New video from Mart: Shed wrestling.

You almost needed a heavier Ford truck for that job.:-)

Re: New video! Pulling my shed into alignment.

Here I'd just hitch a tractor on to pull the building straight and spike on some diagonal bracing to the studs. Although I see your walls were pretty hard to get to.

Re: Mart's 41 pickup. What's that squeak? VIDEO.

I should add that the I phone does shoot nice video. I just find it is little weak on sound. On mine it is so easy to accidentally have my finger covering the mike and making it very low volume The...

Re: Dwell Meters

I have a cheap "70s" vintage dwell meter that just connects to the coil and a ground. It works on either 6 or 12 volt. Positive or negative ground.

Re: Mart's 41 pickup. What's that squeak? VIDEO.

Nice work Mart. I need someone to track down the annoying squeek in the back of my Merc. I noticed your fenders don't have any welds. It was common to see cracked and welded fenders here. My 39 has...

Re: Vapor lock question

I recall my dad talking about vapor lock occasionally on the 52 Merc when it was his daily driver in the 1960s. Maybe today's gas is less subject to it but in the 4 years I have had the Merc back in...

Re: 51 Monarch

No, you could get everything from convertibles to station wgons (Not Monarch, except in 1950)
but I'd guess the four door sedans might have been the most common. One statistic that I found...

51 Monarch

Another photo from the Canada Day show at Fort Qu'appelle, Sask. Folks South of the border may not see many "Monarchs" being only built and sold in Canada They were basically Mercury, rebadged by...

Re: Car Show Pic

A link to the youtube video I put together showing a bit more of the cars that were at the show. Apparently the video will be blocked in some countries due to a copyright violation. Seems the...

Re: Car Show Pic

I think this one from the back of the truck is the only other shot. Unless there is something in the video I"m working on.

Re: Car Show Pic

The flathead under the hood looked like a close match to original if it wasn't . Shifter on the floor. Tires are radial P235-75R15.

Car Show Pic

At the local car show today I thought of the Ford Barn when looking at this fine 41 pickup. Don't have any details but it looks like it has had a full restoration. New wood in the box floor.

Re: 46 Ford 1.5 ton

Yes, the old Ford is here but in pieces. The chassis was converted into a heavy two wheeled trailer over 40 years ago. And I get to see the grille every day I walk past my garage doors.

Re: 46 Ford 1.5 ton

Very nice truck. Much like the "jailbar Ford" that I learned to drive on. It had 7.50x20 up front and dual 9.00x20s on the back although I removed the outer duals.

Re: Anyone using BLO on chrome?

Yes, I'd guess it would attract dust but probably preserve the chrome. I have never used anything other than car wax on my "Korean War Chrome" on the 52 Merc. Cleaned up good with steel wool and...

Re: Fender Mirror

I'm so used to a good set of outside mirrors that I really miss it on the older cars. Plus my neck is not as flexible as it used to be when I need to back out of the garage. I see Walmart has those...

Re: Fender Mirror

Thanks Tom. No real "local" glass shops around here but I'm guessing the local hardware might have the stick on convex mirror that would fit and hopefully stick well enough to the old cracked glass....

Fender Mirror

This mirror was in the trunk of the 53 Merc parts car I got a while back so I finally got around to trying it out on the 52. Since the 53 fender I installed already had holes in it for a mirror I did...

Re: Fuel pump stand with small pinholes usable?

JB weld is an amazing product for filling small holes like that. I've patched gas tanks with it.

Re: Mercury Sunset Pano

Thanks Graeme. We do have some winding up and down roads here but I have not been on them yet with the Merc. Its hard to show on a two dimensional screen though. Even the hills look relatively flat....

Re: Have some fun, Throwback Thursdays

This is one of my oldest vintage shots from the family album that actuallyl features a Ford. Great uncle Jack had this Model T coupe. I don't recall whatever became of it but it is long gone. ...

Re: Mercury Sunset Pano

I know I talked about a calendar of Mercury photos last year but it never got beyond that stage. I guess there is hope for next year now.
Took a drone shot of a Mercury sunset last night.
