FORD changed cable design in 1957. To use the 57 trans, you will need to (or have done) modify the cable housing trans end. There are shops that specialize in this.

Everything I have found so far points to BW only. I have not come across any FORD designed trans (1954-1959).

Yeah, FORD did not catalog bushings until the 1957 model year. The 55/56 took just pins as the actual bushing was a part of the hinge arm.

What strikes me is how FORD of AU used the 351C whereas we used the 302/5.0L-5.8L. They also had a 302C. Lost of desirable engine parts there. Take-off heads were shipped in containers for re-sale.

The 49/59 Car MPC does list # PRODUCTION IDENTIFICATION MARKING
