Re: Sensor cable to brake backplate - 2007 F150?

Like I said, the brakes will still act normally just like cars used to before ABS was around. Nothing complicated.

Re: Sensor cable to brake backplate - 2007 F150?

When there is an ABS fault, it defaults to standard normal brakes like we all used to drive. Don't understand any panic about driving the truck. Are we all turning into wimps ?

Re: 1949 Merc 8CM engine

Rebuild kits for the carb (Holley model 885FFC) are available on EBAY, Mike's carburetor parts or from Daytona in Florida. There may be more. The cheapest I've seen is around $55.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

The blue one also looks like a '56 base Ranch Wagon with '55 or '56 Mercury front clip, bumpers, and tailights.

Re: Ford Carburetor question

I believe the ECW carbs would be from around a '56 Ford truck 272 Y Block V8. If you're after a little more air flow, the 1 1/16"carbs would have that, but also have a V-Bead for the air cleaner...

Re: What Model is This 56

That looks 100% '56 Mainline, except it has the '56 Fairlane trim above the tailight for the back up light. '56 Mainlines had the same upper tailight trim as '55.

Re: What Model is This 56

The side trim is half Customline and half Mainline. Let's see the data plate.
The car has a lot of mis-matched parts.

Re: What Model is This 56

With Fairlane trim on the tailights and incorrect side trim ? It's yet to be found what model it is. Would be nice to see the body code on the data plate.

Re: What Model is This 56

That must have been a very early pre-production brochure. '56 Mainlines did have the bright trim on the front and back windows. '55 had just the black rubber. Also, '56 Mainlines had side trim, but...

Re: Y-block B intake manifold question

The '57 B intake will have slightly larger ports than the '56 heads, but will still work.

Re: Jail Bar pix for GB SISSON

All three appear to be heavy duty with dual rear wheels. The third picture looks like it has about 8 lugs on the wheels. The one before it has 5 lugs.

Re: Holley 885 leak down test

The power valve on the 8885FFC carbs are nothing like the later Holley 4 barrels and Holley 94's. If they are stuck open for any reason, it will not drain the fuel level down. This carb is virtually...

Re: fuel pumps

Yes, I know on the '54 Mercury 256, the fuel pump has the vacuum pump on the bottom, and glass bowl on the top. The opposite of later Y-Blocks.

Re: Quest for lincoln yblock pistons

I found these on EBAY. It said they were for a 317 truck Y Block. I read somewhere else that the truck and car used the same piston, so not sure. This new set on EBAY I think are
for a 3.80" bore...

Re: 390 camshaft

When I worked at Ford Powertrain engineering in the 80's and 90's, Eonic was a supplier for camshafts during development. Not sure about actual production.
