What would cause the transmission to pop out of 3rd gear when you let off the gas? Pick up a motor and transmission together and that was the only problem he had with it, so before I tear it down I...

It did pop out of 2nd a few times and a little hard going in 2nd at times,pulled engine to do a refresh figured I would do both at the same time.

OK, took transmission out and this is what it looks like, what do you think? Everyone suggested I rebuild myself but don't know a good gear from bad?

I have a guy that is going to go thru my engine, now I'm looking for someone to rebuild the transmission for me. Would even purchase one if I could already rebuilt. I live just north of Indianapolis...

Have that but looks like a pin goes in the hole to keep shifter from rotating.
