Re: Door latches
Agree on the originals. Reproductions came with my pickup when I bought it. The drivers side wouldn’t lock and I welded up the tab that slides under the tab to keep the handle from turning.

Re: Snyder 5.5 head
So just curious, if Snyder approved the change, can the pattern(s) be changed, or will new patterns need to be made?

Re: Snyder 5.5 head
It’s doubtful Tod will ever do that. Both of my heads, a 6:1 and the other 5.5:1 are shorter and when measured to compare both aren’t as wide as an original. Width not as much but length definitely...

Re: Car cover question
What most people don’t realize is that California Car Cover, their covers are made by Covercraft. I have bought numerous covers in the past from California CC and they have Covercraft tags on them.

Re: Model A Ford Trunks
Ed, you’re far from me but I found some 1/8” at Austin Hardwood out here in Southern CA. They called it wiggle wood. It bends easily, but I still had to steam it on the sharp radius. What I don’t...

Re: Disassemble Tudor Body
I used paint stripper on everything. Scraped off real easy. For the rust I bought food grade phosphoric acid by the gallon from a vendor on Amazon. I kept the metal wet with a spray bottle and the...

Re: Tudor front seat questions
For cups and front seat hinge, read page 438 of the service bulletins. I didn’t look for the bar type, but I think they ran out in early 28.

Re: Body Cart for Tudor Body
Here’s my body cart, cheap and simple easy to make. Swivel casters 4” from HF. never had a bit of trouble moving around. I located the legs in the rear where the body mounts are, up front just behind...

Re: Body Cart for Tudor Body
I used 2x6 for the frame with 2x4 for the uprights. Also triangle gussets in the corners to hold the 2x4 uprights. Also I made my uprights 2 different lengths so I could work underneath and on top...

Re: 1929 A headlights
Just so you know, the vendors, not all of them, can supply a 2 wire harness for single bulb with or without cowl lights. The cowl light wire exits separately from the 2 wires going to the headlights....

Re: 1929 A headlights
I think it might be the other way around in your case if what you currently have, 2 wire sockets 1/2”, and your harness is 3 wire. If you have an early 29, they should be single bulb reflector 2...

Re: 1929 A headlights
I think I know what your problem is. You have what some of the CD vendors call 28 head lights. They have smaller 2 pin sockets for your conduit connection. Originally your light switch probably had...

Re: Swirled Glass Shift Knobs
I have shifter knobs (have a Mitchell OD with one too) that are made from polished rocks. Those could have been made who knows when.

Re: Decided to pull the motor/trans
The next time you pull the trans you might check the second third sliding gear on the main shaft, you said it was jumping out of gear. Ford recommended changing that if the main shaft needed replace,...

Re: 28 Tudor header brackets missing
At the end of that triangle piece in your photo should have a right angle tab with a hole for a wood screw. This is a very weak area on 28-29. 1930 was completely different up there. They had an...

Re: Fuel system on 57 Ranchero Y block
