I noticed a few photos of FDR with a Model A roadster. If he actually drove the car, it must have had hand controls. Later on, I believe FDR drove a 35 or 36 Ford Phaeton with hand controls.

Yep. Rotor wrench is right. Photo of our unrestored 30 Tudor. Body never been off the frame. Pads on the bottom against the frame.

There are also shortages of farm machinery. Dealers have a lot of back orders from manufacturers. Used iron is waay up in price. They won't dicker on price. Sellers market.

I once had a car with a small oil seepage along the head gasket on the drivers side. No water in the oil pan, though. Comes out the head gasket through the rings. Learned something new today. ...

You don't have to take off the entire generator to remove the belt. Just unbolt the generator pulley after loosening belt tension. It pops right off and back on. Makes belt swaps easy.

Take the starter out of the engine and bench test it on a 6V battery with jumper cables. You will see more when it's out. Are you using a 6Volt battery?

BTW, I just got a 30 Tudor running that had not ran since 1963, and yes, I DID thoroughly clean out the oil pan and valve chest. People DO pay attention to what you say. Thanks.
