Re: Looking for spark plug wires for my C69

Thanks for the info/ links. Spoke with a tech today from Brillman, who was very helpful. I'll be ordering their kit P|N B1070-007. I think it probably it is the one that V8Coopman posted above. It...

Re: What is the price of a rebuilt flathead??

Picked my short block assembly from the machinist a couple weeks back. Total bill with tax was CAN$2,400, but I supplied the parts I previously posted. Of that, only $900 was for labour to clean and...

Re: Engine Made in the Stand

Good luck. Always nice to see flatheads getting another chance to run again.

Re: Early V8 Dyno Work

A lot of really great info. I feel very lucky to read about the history of making more power from the flathead from those who actually did the work in the day and from those who continue to do so....

Re: C69 stock head installation - left vs right

Thanks. I really wish they were aluminum, but they are cast iron. Actually a search of the net brought up another thread I started here about head bolt lengths. Lol.
I also came across this thread...

Re: C69 stock head installation - left vs right

The numbers on the heads are the C7RA-A. Both have the Ford script cast below the aforementioned code, and below that one has a "1" and the other a "3".

Re: C69 stock head installation - left vs right

Great. I don't have any pics on me, so when I get home tonight I'll check and post.

C69 stock head installation - left vs right

I have short block back from the machinist and wish to temporarily attach the stock cast heads. He did blast them, and they are crack free, so au wish to install them. However, when I purchased the...

Re: 46 Merc Engine Questions

As per V8Coopman, I just thought one could add oil via the breather tube. I understand that it may not have been as convenient, but still possible. I found this pic of an "Aussie" engine with an even...

Re: 46 Merc Engine Questions

I knew the 8BA engines had some sort of oil filler tube, but really didn't notice it on the 59A type motors. I've found a few more images on the interweeb showing the sane manifold above, but am...

Re: 46 Merc Engine Questions

Wow. Would have never guessed it was a coolant heater, but the truck is being advertised in Prince Albert, SK, Canada.

46 Merc Engine Questions

Came across this pic in an add on kijiji. Supposed to be in a 1946 Merc 2ton truck. I have a C69 truck engine, and I have no oil filler tube which seems to be in the pic. Also it appears a sensor of...

Re: Authorized Ford Rebuilder network

Mentioned this briefly in one of my threads. Pics of the rebuilder plate on mine (C69) from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. There is currently another engine for sale on kijiji that has the same rebuilder...

Re: 8BA without trans bell housing?

I just remembered that my engine had the the same rebuild plate from Edmonton, Alberta. Mine was #13370. This one is #25116. That's a difference of 11746! Could it really be possible they rebuilt...

Re: What is the price of a rebuilt flathead??

From what I've seen over the last year being advertised, I would say a "rebuilt" flathead was selling between CAN$3K -$5K, but that typically is just the block assembly. Your still missing intake,...

8BA without trans bell housing?

Came across this this for sale, but I'm confused as it lists it as a 54 8BA, but I see no trans bell housing. Is this a weird Canadian truck configuration?

Re: Ropy Nacewicz Hardware business reopen date

Good to hear. I was about to order a bunch of stuff before he passed. I've been waiting to hear news of status. I'll be ordering primarily bolts for my C69 engine and hopefully the engine paint.
