Re: Mystery Engine Part

It could be . It has a slight twist in it but it is a perfect fit on the crank snout.
It also appears like it had a small keyway type cut out each side where it has broken.

I'll have a look...

Hi Miguel
The mercury in your photo is a 1946 model as it has a painted grill surround with three small chrome strips each side and long strips on the hood.

Much the same story as the one above, I drove my 40 coupe to a local Auto paint store recently and a young guy and a young woman from behind the counter came out to check it over. After much thought...

Re: Up-date on 41 front wheel shimmy

If you are going to separate the hubs and drums you will need to get the special tool to cut the swages off the studs to let them come apart. you can't just press them off.

Re: Chrome wheels on a 40

I'm going to buy a 4 pack of them and try

If you use the Gorilla nuts with the shank wouldn't you have to drill the holes in the wheels larger to allow the shank to go through?

Re: Chrome wheels on a 40

The Wheelsmith "Vintage" wheels are much the same although I can get about 3/4 of the nut on and I know it's not correct but I haven't had any problems after quite a few thousand miles.

Yes the sway bar is behind the diff between it and the gas tank.
I thought I used one existing hole each side and had to drill an two extras hole for the sway bar bushings.
