Re: 7 tooth retainer clip

I measured 17mm ID. But found only 18mm or 16mm ID. I ordered both. 16mm was too small. 18mm looks good.

Re: 7 tooth retainer clip

I measured and ordered from McMaster. Looks like the order might arrive next day. I will return here and provide the details if the rings fit. Thanks for the advice.

7 tooth retainer clip

I have a lot of slop in my steering. And I just came across a new steering wheel. So I am currently taking apart my 7 tooth box to make sure everything is as good as I can possibly make it, before I...

Re: Loss of power,

I could not decide on original points, or modern. I read plenty of posts about original points working as expected. And no need for modern unless the condenser keeps burning up. I may buy a set of...

Re: Loss of power,

I spent the evening going through the engine. A multi point inspection if you will. I found that there are a couple of scratches in the distributor cam that wore down the pad on the breaker arm and...

Re: Loss of power,

I swapped out the carb yesterday already when I started my drive. I brought a known good carb with me.

The engine would maintain a fast idle, even with the spark retarded. I could not get the...

Re: Loss of power,

I bent the wire connector 90 degrees when attaching it to the upper plate.

I'll do the box gap cleaning tip tomorrow.

Dizzy is in reference to the distributor rotor, correct?

Re: Loss of power,

Champion plugs. I pulled #1 plug on the side of the road. It was light Grey color. No moisture.

I'll pull the others when I get home

Loss of power,

Okay fellas, I'm stumped. I started to drive my 28 coupe long distances. Today I drove from Santa Clarita to Camarillo. About 60 miles. I made it to my destination without any problems. Then on the...

Re: Foaming coolant under heavy load, bad head gasket?

I had to come back to this thread just to say that switching to Sierra antifreeze fixed my foaming issue. I would always get foaming under heavy load. But I've now been on several long drives without...

Radiator, no overflow tube

I've been working on my vehicle over the last few months. Fixing things here and there. The engine runs a little better after each repair. And with each repair, I drive the car a little more. And...

Re: Push button starter

Update. I found the short in the system. The original starter switch housing was shorting to the terminal post. I installed a makeshift grommet while I order parts.

I upgraded the battery cables...

I see that I do have a 2 gauge battery cable. I'll try swapping that out with 4...
