Thanks for the responses, I think I'll try to cut a slot in the panel without going all the way through so that the hook is concealed behind the outer covering.

I am tempted to do just that, but I have not seen any restored examples of that "hook" protruding through the panel.

I wonder if there wasn't maybe a bracket on the back of the panel? If only...

Thanks for the help, I could see the hook being a T/TT cary over in 28/29 but why would they continue them into 30/31?
As the same door will fit Tudor's, I wonder if it might not be intended for...

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the D shaped "clip" in the attached closeup of a model A pickup/tudor door?

Does it somehow retain the door panel? If so, how does it?

according to the judging standards: "May of 31 through end of production-The panel had a distinct line around the ribbed area"etc.

I thought I was going faster than it read. Why is it out by 15MPH.

Could it be the wrong speedometer gear set (the driven gear is stamped with the ratio) or just a bad speedometer?

As the door posts locate the the top rear bow you'd have to suspect the bow itself wouldn't you? is it a reproduction? any thing left of an original for comparison?
