I was wondering if anyone had a diagram which showed what screws go where when fitting the top wood. Ive got a bunch of screws and i have no idea where they go as part of my wood was missing so...

I have had a few condensors fail on me whilst driving, the car just dies and wouldn't start again. I now always carry a spare one with me in the glove box just in case.

the beaded material looks like piping used on the edge of seats and the like, that piping only has a 3mm bead on it.


you can buy piping cord and cover it in cotton for a similar look I guess.

you don't have to use GL1, you can use GL2 or GL3 or GL4 - anything apart from GL5 really.

Kube I think you must be one of the few people about who is happy with raising the height of your car by changing the springs :)

we don't have NAPA in the UK... the Echlin IH-200 is a different style of condenser and wouldn't fit in the dizzy.

the cable is free with no strain on it, when removed from the speedo when driving along it whirrs around no problem at all. I have made a little video of the problem, you can see it on the link...

Mart I replaced the condenser with a unit from a NOS dizzy I had then when that stopped working I replaced with a modern Lucas condenser which is what is in it just now. ...

ok thanks gents, I will check the cable but I think the issue is at the speedo because of where the needle now sits.


What about the speedo though? the needle now hangs down straight at 6...

Mart I am using 12v.


I don't have any plug caps, the wires are held into the cap with pointy screws, on the plug end I'm using raja clips which bolt under the screw top on the plug. the raja...

Terry the cap I use is an original Lucas cap - you don't get repro caps for the lucas dizzy.


Its not easy to get the cap on and off, I can probably get pics of it but it wouldn't be easy.
