Re: Transmission Oil

The Sta-Lube that TerryOH pointed out in post #5 is what I use in the gearboxes because it's GL-4. And I use it in the rears too but more for convenience than anything else. I have a '36 and a '35.

I'm outta my depth here being a 21-stud kinda guy, but I gather that cast in numbers have been difficult to correlate.

Re: Ď48 Allard on eBay with a Ford Flathead V8

Juice brakes on the front, so I think the cables running down the torque tube and out to the wheels must be parking brakes?

Independent suspension on the front as well as a heck of a spring...

Re: Uploading pictures

Hi Everyone, One of the less-used forums around here is the Test Forum.

I used it to experiment with resizing the same pic until the file wouldn't upload.

Re: Uploading pictures

I know we're all just trying to help. Here's a post from about two weeks ago where I mentioned the file sizes. It looks like 2000 KB is about the limit on .JPG's.

Re: Uploading pictures

Windows users have a built in app called PAINT. It has the ability to resize photos. .JPG's need to be about 1.4Mb or smaller, I usually set the pixels to about 2400 in the larger dimension.

Re: 1938 Temperature Gauge

Frosty1 I'd say you want to buy that now because it's the right thing if you're doing an original car. That's a minty gauge and the dude that offered it is as good as it gets!

Re: What to look for on a preliminary block inspection?

Thanks Ken Henry. This has been good.

My takeaway is that you did very well to be ready with the wire wheel and degreaser for prep, a few really good lights, and a good close-up camera rig.

Re: What to look for on a preliminary block inspection?

Well, Let's hope it's really worth 400. Honestly if it's good it's worth more.

Re: 12 year old Coker tires, still ok?

Yeah, um, no. Not safe if it's me.

Now have I done it, yes. I drove my '35 for a year on fourteen year old bias tires. But I was lucky, and silly.

Here's a picture of what I settled on for...

I don't think the pixel dimension of your .JPG or .JPEG makes any...
