If you dont haul anything with it, you can remove some of the spring leaves but it will also lower the truck some.

Mainly the short leaves or every other one.

The 53 bellhousing can be done like the mumert y block bell, but the T170 would be a much better choice.

The other issue is your clutch linkage..its more of a challenge then the 1952 and older...

The large end yoke measures 7-1/2" and 7" schedule 40 pipe is 7-5/8 od. 7" pipe is not that common and i had a piece if i can find it, simple enough to turn it down to fit if not rolling a band out...

If you're going to repaint it. Put alittle heat on it with a torch, enough heat to were you get alittle smoke off it but not red. That will help break the crud loose

Clamp the box in a vise or bolt it down, then grab the column drop and twist it back and forth with your hand and pull it off at the same time. Make sure the steering wheel key is out or it wont...

Mount one shoe to the backing plate. Hook the return spring into the other shoe then use you hands pulling on the second shoe to wrestle it into place. Then install the crossbar at the bottom to hold...
