Re: 1933 Dymaxion

My experience has been that anything with rear steering is somewhat difficult to steer, think fork lift.

Re: Oil: To filter or not to Filter

Around 1940 I think they were using the filter return that dumped into the fuel pump stand. This caused some issues with increased oil vapor out the breather. Then they switched to a return that...

Re: Dim Headlights on 40:

Looks like a replacement harness to me. They use an interwire with modern insulation covered with a cloth winding. The outer cloth covering is just decoration. The wires look fine. For appearance...

Re: Looking for '38 and '39 Tonner Owners - Current or Past

Re: Looking for '38 and '39 Tonner Owners - Current or Past

The biggest issues are the font size and table length (horizonal). If you increase the font and the cell size vertically it would help a lot. The link is in pdf formant, so difficult to do much...

Re: Helpful shock absorber technical data.

If you want to figure it out for your vehicle:

Determine your shock mount points, these are your measurement points.

Measure the distance between the upper and lower mounting point. This is the...

Re: Dim Headlights on 40:

If you have 6v into the CB and 4.74 out there is a major issue with the CB. You could try checking the resistance through the CB. But, IMO, you ether need to check it or replace it. Not sure how...

Re: Dim Headlights on 40:

Do you have a wiring diagram? The Yellow wire with the Red tracer is the wire from the Circuit Breaker to the Light Control Switch. The wire you are calling black is actually Black with a Blue...

Re: 39 Deluxe Starter Button Installation

The early starter buttons are all chrome, have one wire to them and provide a ground path to the starter solenoid. I am more familiar with the later pickups, but think they are all similar. On the...

Stan's 34 Ford

Think I will start a new thread for this. Stan sent me some photos of his car to post. Just picked a few to get started.

Re: Dim Headlights on 40:

Heat normally = resistance, so if they are getting very hot you would assume there is excessive resistance or current draw.

Re: Electronic Voltage Regulator

If it is the FunProjects I think they have been out of stock for a while now and may not be currently produced. (as in the company is not making them anymore) They were considered a good product.

Re: F1 front drums

Brake arcing is really important with Lockheed style brakes, but with Bendix brakes like the F1 it is not that big a deal and not normally done.

Re: Test Picture

The cameras readjust the photo file size from photo to photo based on a lot of factors. Also, the email trick isn't the best way to downsize the photo file size. I would guess that may be where you...

Re: 34 ford using WIRING

The Barn is all about sharing information and learning for each other. Don't think you will find many folks on the Barn that are here for any other reason than to talk Fords (and a little Hot Rods)....

Re: 34 ford using WIRING

Easiest way to send information back and forth is email. Can you do email? If so, my address is: jseery@ymail.com

It is easy to attach photos and diagrams to emails, if you know how, LOL.
