Rings have a lot of drag, seems too much

Modern valve spring seat pressure

Does anyone know the spring seat pressure with new modern valves springs verses original valve springs? They are about 1/8" longer and wider diameter so was wondering if the seat pressure would be...

With the top of the carb upside down I set the float at 1/2" from carb surface to top of float seam ( that's the top when carb is in correct upright position)

They all are zenith, the needle/seat are Viton tip. I did add a spacer washer under the float valve for adj.

mrraford, what I have is if your using used bearings the preload would be between 12 to 15 in. lbs.torque which would be 4.5 to 5.5 lbs on a spring scale (fish scale). Hanging wt. would be the same....

I just used two studs, one opposite each other to hold the gaskets in place. That worked out great. Used Tom Endy's method and couldn't have been easier.

Straightening wheels with heat shrink method!

I read an article about straightening wheels by heating spokes and cooling fast with wet rag. Anyone here tried that out? Wondering if that works and just how much to heat the spokes? Thanks, Tom

I believe the 31 s/w fordor has the most leg room. That's one reason I picked one up to restore. I am 6'2, both knees and right hip replaced. Needed more room. I had a 30 coupe and that wasn't bad...

Tom, no, B caps would be bigger. We have several front and center A caps and they all are a smaller diameter than the rear cap and block bearing saddle. I am thinking because front and center caps...
