I would pull the wheel off and put the spare on and spin it to see if it runs true. Also check to see if the tire is mounted correctly and doesn't have a flat spot from not moving and under inflation...

Do the head lights work? Check the ground at the battery and frame. How many volts did you have at the starter? Should be 6.8. If you live in a cold area it could be a weak battery.

Oil Filters

What type of oil filter works best with the Model A's low oil pressure? I have been using a Motorcraft FL-1A but I believe these were designed for pressures around 40 lbs.

Could be timing gear or valve. Try shorting out plugs one at a time. 3 should sound similar and one odd if it is a valve. If you think it is a valve try Marvel Mystery Oil,drain out a quart of oil...

I was driving back from Reno about 5 years ago when smoke started coming out of the dash panel. Pulled over and removed dash.The solder eye connector to the ammeter had become to hot and came loose....
