Fill cylinders & intake ports with diesel and let it sit for a couple of weeks. Now with 12 bolts to starter only hit it. It will will either come free or break ring gear. No biggie if it breaks ring...

Piston in master cylinder not returning far enough to uncover port in master will lock them up. When they are locked if you crack a bleeder does that unlock them

That button is to convert a short nose crab style cam to a helmet distributor. The OP wants to do the opposite.

Brandon to switch from helmet to crab you need a distributor adapter/ spacer. The early cam is longer.

They look pretty Dale. I have 2 sets of them 1 semi finished. The finished set is polished on the outside. Mine are actually Edelbrock but look identical to the Jahns as I have some of them used....

Merc 4inch stroke crank does NOT need welded to get 4 1/8 inch stroke. It gets offset ground to the small 2 inch pin size. Hence the use of the 21A or 91A rods.

I have stitched many similar cracks myself. I install new valve seat & sleeve after stitching. Reason is she crack decide to extend itself down cylinders later it will not hurt engine.

Great answer Dale. As you stated there are many variables in any modified from stock engines that can dictate how similar engine can require very different components & assembly specs.
