Re: A good start & for sale
The link says "SOLD" so I guess it is worth $750 to someone!
I think it worth more due to the value of parts which are getting hard to find. If I were building a TT I would buy it for $750 in a...

Re: A good start & for sale
Not enough info. Is the rear axle 2 speed? Does it have 5:1 gears? is the engine and transmission locked up? The cab is probably worth $500. Doors probably worth several hundred. And the rims on...

Re: Engine Rebuilders
These old trucks can be REALLY dangerous. If you will split the shipping cost you can give it to me and I will take good care of it.

Re: Engine Rebuilders
You won't do better than Ross Lilliker in College Station Tx for an engine rebuilder. Probably a 6 hour drive from Alabamer, but well worth it.

Re: Sounding like a Harley....
Mine came off several times, even when I triple nutted it. It has to do with heat and vibration. I ended up at Tractor Supply and got a tractor muffler with the correct size pipe.
It will come...

Re: Tire question
Most tire stores in the Richmond area won't touch them. I recommend Leete Tire in Petersburg. They used to have a guy named Bunny who did them all no problem, rear TT two piece rims, split rims,...

"local quick change oil shop." I assume you are talking about one of the franchises? I have been to one in the Richmond VA area where I live, never again.

Re: Rear brake lights
Are you keeping your car period correct? If so my solution won't help. I like period correct, and it is great on a seldom driven car. I drive my cars a lot and safety is the overriding factor for...

Re: 1926 Ford Model T Battery
My first T had not run for 10 years when I got it. I bought a new 6V battery from Advance Auto, then replaced the cables and starter switch. The starter wouldn't crank. So I removed the Bendix and...

Re: 1923 T Restoration
It takes a lot of time and effort, BUT
a new thread showing progress and techniques with lots of pictures would be nice. And would give you a record of what you did.
Please give it some...

Re: Model T as a daily driver
And a good thread it is!
I would disagree with, " should only be driven in rural areas where the traffic is light and the speed limits are slow." Here in central VA rural areas tend to have...

Re: Model T as a daily driver
Safety is relative.
A Model T is not as safe as a modern car that has air bags, seatbelts, structural body strength, anti-lock braking, etc. etc. Neither is a motorcycle. Safety is up to the...

Re: Buying a Model T
I think prices tend to be soft in the fall as people decide they do not want to garage their car for the winter.
And prices tend to be soft overall because so many older people own several T's...

Re: Wood spoke VS wire spoke rims
Another factor is how fast you want to go. Over 35 requires wheels that are true, no wobble, or vibration sets in. The faster you go, the worse it gets. Wire spokes have to be straight.
I...

These are really good oilers. I suggest that you use the magnet with them.

Re: UHaul open car hauler for a Model T?
You had better allow at least 30 seconds to remove the hood! You have to lift the front center at the radiator, then pull it forward 1/2", then lift it clear. No bolts etc. to remove, its weight...
