Re: Serpentine belts

If they are the '28/'29 type and you don't need them, I do. :-)

Re: San diego big 3 swap meet--last one

I pulled in at 8AM Saturday morning. I could see that the field sparsely populated. Sellers told me most had pulled out Friday night because of bad weather. Rain and wind started again Saturday....

Re: Carl's early Ford parts Mar Vista, CA

Carl's Ford Parts was on Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica, CA, not Mar Vista. He was still in business in 1965 when I shipped out for my military tour. When I returned a few years later he was gone. ...

Re: So when would my car actually have been made?

The engine/frame number on my 1930 AA puts it in May 1930. My AA is the Early '30 body style. The new body style came out in June 1930. So my engine made it into a chassis pretty quick.

Re: Intake manifold getting hot

Be extremely frugal with any type of grease you put on the cam. A little too much will get thrown off and can soil the points.

Re: Garage heat

Open flame heat in a building full of gas fumes? Sounds scary to me. My new garage is going to have radiant heat in the floor. My current garage is well insulated and warms up nicely from the...

The mirrors for my Early 1930 mount on the door pillar, not the hinge. I would love to find the mirror brackets for it.

Re: Problem with front axle made of a mixture of parts.

Those guys are pretty crude. I can't imagine that all that heat isn't damaging the king pin bushings. The Mickey Mouse way they went about removing the rear spring shackle bushings is comical. Using...

Re: Problem with front axle made of a mixture of parts.

Looking at the Speedway Dropped Tie rod ends it is hard to tell how far they drop the tie rod. I put it together and measured and this will solve my problem. Its just too bad they don't have them...

My Axle is a 1933. The Spindles are 1937-1941. The Wishbone is a 1930. All is fitting together well, except the Tie Rod. Whether I mount the Tie Rod on top or bottom of the Spindle arm it hits the...
