Re: 1936 generator cut out wiring

Re: 38 Ford sear belts
Mine is a 36 and has the long front seat. I had to make elongated holes just to get the belts through, and than more holes in the flooboard in back for the retaining bolts. terry

Re: 1938 Ford hand crank start
My '36 has a hand crank and I used to start the car this way just for the fun of it. It always worked well for me. terry

You've been a big help to us on this forum. But I keep wondering what you're doing with that sledge hammer in your avatar. terry

Re: Ford R3 Generator / voltage regulator
I do have a 12 v regulator that replaces the cut-out...never used. But, as rotor says if you need a lot of amps this may not be your answer until you rebuild the generator to 12 volt specs. Terry

Re: Another wiper motor question
if I'm reading this right, there are 2 different wiper motors...one for the cars and the other for pickups? Or you don't have a wiper for the right year? Terry

Re: 1939 Dashboard lights.
It wasn't one of Ford's better ideas. The same set-up is in the 36 Fords and even when using LEDs for bulbs, it still doesn't help much in getting light to the gauges. Terry

I got a tube shock kit for the rear of my '36 several years back...so far so good. It was from C&G parts. Maybe they have them for37's as well. Terry

I put an aftermarket one from Argentina in my 36 and it still is working well and the red hasn't faded. But, this was 20 years or more when i got it. Terry

Re: Calibrate & adjust oil pressure gauge
I know the gauge uses the same type of wiring as is inside the gas gauge on the '36s. And they are a pain to work on. I wouldn't take it entirely apart, but maybe by moving the plate up just a...

Re: 36 temperature gauge?
I had to buy a new one for my 36. It was made in Argentina but the red fluid hasn't reduced in color and I've had it for a long time. Maybe the quality has gone down since my purchase. Terry
