You might try contacting the Salt Creek Model A Club/MAFCA. They may have some members near Oak Lawn. I was a member for many years but moved away 15 years ago.

These are pics from my Ď29 Touring. I believe the body has never been removed off frame. The gap at the rear doors from the flat of the splash apron to the bottom of door threshold stamping is 5/8Ē....

I would also suggest checking exhaust and manifold for blockage. Critters can get in there with acorns etc and create a restriction. Worth a check happened to me. John

Gary, car was repainted in late 50ís in the lighter green shade prior to my Dad buying the car. Paint underneath does look like Dawn Gray. I looked up color on line, why ford named a greenish color...
