Mine are out of an un forked 97 escort. I had to make some mods to mount, but they are great. If you been to a wrecking yard, youíll know what forked or un forked means.

I would use the best gasket, although I see in 2017 brattons they recommend the modern silicone impregnated one. I have the 5:5 head with .125” bore , and I used the best.

Either way, something is worn. If in line with the crank, then the wrist pin isnít holding.if perpendicular, then worn Babbitt.

Get a harbor freight stethoscope and replace the metal end with heater hose. ( or just try heater hose). You will be able to pinpoint the area it’s coming from. MMO or seafoam is a good idea

Did you remove the rear drums? That’s where the key is. Also needs to be 100#s of torque on the axle nut.
