Am going to do some work on my trans and read a few articles that the fluid filter needs to be only washed out and not replaced. Any thoughts?

Not an expert on Merc's but looks pretty stock and complete. As for drivers side mirrors,
I've found them pretty much useless on 41'-48 FOMOCO's. they vibrate terrible and can't really see much....

when you "think" you have everything lined up, take a picture of the front, dead on. You'll be surprised at what shows up that you don't see with only your eyes. It's almost impossible to see both...

I would think any good upholstery shop would do it. you'd be only paying for the labor.actually if it's only seats you can do it yourself. Hog rings, pull tight and keep everything straight.

a rad. in a '41 has lower mounts on the frame and upper mounts that attach to the inner fenders. also I believe '41 fenders mount differently than '47. I'd go with whichever parts matches up the best...

Get a piece of aluminum and start grinding, sawing. I imagine you could duplicate that piece fairly close. who cares if the backside isn't hollowed out as no one will see it. polish or have it plated

I used a stock fuel gauge, Ron Francis voltage reducer (VR-1 12-6V) and a sender from Yogis street rod parts 73-10 ohm. E was empty, F was full. In between who cares
