Ford has around 1.1 million serial numbers for 1936, I don't think 90 percent would be pickups:)

Although those are 36/37 fenders, I am pretty sure the dimple is the same for a 35...I have one '35 fender, will compare it tomorrow for you Van.

Do a Google Search for "locomotive crankshaft storage", the click on Google Images, first one I saw was of about 5 Locomotive cranks stored horizontally, and only supported on/near the ends.

I looked through the FAQs on the DMV site, I din't see any mention of Aluminum, it did mention a different type of "reflector paint?"

Either way, would still look better than a new white plate;)

Interesting, my TPI'ed 350 with 700 R4, will go into OD at 35-ish MPH with 2.77's in the rear, yes TV cable is adjusted properly I wonder what your brothers issue was/is?

It should be soldered on, take a torch and heat the bracket up, you should see solder starting to ooze out..I just took all that stuff of a '36 radiator.

But why do you think it's beyond repair?...

I've seen similar on (non banjo rears) where there wasn't enough-or any-preload on the bearings...i/e loose hubs on floating rearends and the like.

I've seen pics of the LSR cars, exhaust up the top, intake and carb(s) hanging off the side, I think the consensus is it was an exercise in futility, or else everyone would be doing it to get more...
