I did a check in the "Green Bible" and on page 12 is a diagram of the spare tire carrier and it shows that 1936 to 1941 commercial, does mount to the running board. There is an attachment to the box...

I checked all of the places you mentioned and nobody carries the spare tire mount. I will keep looking on this site and ebay. Thank you for your help so far.

I am looking for a spare tire mount for a 1941 Ford 1/2 ton. Specifically the one that mounts through the running board. Is there a source for these new or does anyone know of one for sale?

The oil pressure is what scares me the most. I have valvoline VR1 20W50 oil in it now.

I know this has been discussed earlier BUT, I have a 1937 flathead v8 in a 1941 pickup. The cylinder compression is 60 to 65 psi, dry in all of the cylinders. the oil pressure drops from 20 to 25 psi...

What is the best antifreeze to use? Ethylene Glycol or the newer multi use antifreeze. Also on motor oil, what is the best type of oil in the flatheads? a multi viscosity or a straight 30 weight?

Mine is the riveted one and the rivets are loose along with everything else. Yes I saw that Mac's offers one so I will go that route. Thanks everyone.

So I have just looked in Mac's auto and they offer a new U joint but it states that it will not work with one that is riveted. It so happens that mine has what I would call a riveted cage around it....

I will be installing a front crossmember on my 29 roadster pickup. Does anyone have any suggestions on what and what not to do? I am hoping to use rivets and get it to look like it should.
