Re: Electronic ignition advise

Sorry, I know nothing about electronic ignition , that is the main reason that I don't use it . I just figure that leaving the ignition switch on isn't a good idea if the engine isn't running whether...

Re: When is a "Model A" no longer a "Model A"

Re: Mounting new tires on freshly painted wheels

I use GO JO original hand cleaner as a lubricant when installing new twenty one inch tires. I have been able to install new tires by hand when using go Jo as a lubricant. It probably wouldn't be as...

Re: Electronic ignition advise

After a simple twelve volt conversion , using the Pertronix flame thrower coil , I can see no need to convert to electronic ignition . . As said, electronic ignition doesn't necessarily give hotter...

Re: Fun project voltage regulator

I have no doubt that the other model A voltage regulators are good . I would prefer not to have to use a cut out . The Fun Projects voltage regulator takes the place of the cut out without...

Re: Swirled Glass Shift Knobs

The first swirled color gearshift knob that I remember was in the early sixties and was on a 1950 Ford pickup . I didn't like the swirl colored knob at first but now I like and use them .

Re: 1930 Coupe front end shimmy

Re: Port & Polish Engine

I enlarged the intake ports a bit before installing a dual updraft intake manifold and model B carbs on my roadster . I don't polish intake ports on engines that run updraft carbs .

Re: Manifold Gland Rings

If gland rings are not used it will usually just be a matter of time before the exhaust manifold will begin to sag at the rear and need replacement . I'm fixing to install a new exhaust manifold on...

Re: Exhaust pipe question/opinion

On the other hand , lean operation will also cause overheating . Factory specs for GAV adjustment is one quarter turn open on the GAV knob after a brief warm up on a cold engine . If the larger model...

Re: Exhaust pipe question/opinion

I agree that the timing is probably a bit retarded . When the timing pin meets the dimple in the cam gear I adjust the distributor cam so that the TRAILING end of the rotor tip points exactly at the...

Re: Radiator cap problem 31 coupe

I used high temp red silicone sealer between the cap and the gasket and the problem was solved for me . Before that , when I would accelerate , water would escape around the radiator cap .

Re: Brass fuel shut-off valve binding.
