Re: Removing pinion from 40` banjo housing

I have attached some pictures of an extremely crude tooling I put together to remove the bearing pack. I used a jackscrew and plate from a 3 leg pulley puller to act as a press. Good Luck, Norm

I finished up the rear end rebuild. The rear end is re-installed. I'm working on the truck a little at a time when the time is available.

When I rebuilt my Banjo, I used Timken bearings. I did not measure these before installation assuming that they would be the exact height as original, but I would have to say they where not....

You will need to press out the pinion gear and bearings with the outer race as a package. I made a press out of scrap metal I had.
