My Mickey Mouse fix.....
I took out one .001 shim, cut it in half, and installed the two pieces on the front end of the shim pack and torqued it down. The bearing is now .015 on both ends.

babbit clearances

I'm plastiguaging babbit bearings. One rod bearing measures .001 in the front and .002 in the back. Should I try to fix this somehow or will it be ok?

On my show cars I run the yellow wire back through the terminal box and hook up an inline fuse holder. Then back to the terminal box and the correct terminal. That way I don't have to see a fuse...

To clean stud holes I ground four vertical grooves in a hardened bolt with the same threads. I ran the bolt down the stud holes with some WD40. The crud was be picked up in the grooves
