I think you have to top coat the sealer,I don't beleive it's meant to be left exposed

I understand that,That's why I was asking where the power could be coming from. I feel like they may have something hooked up wrong. I don't think the regulator is faulty.

I'm not sure? It's brand new and it did the same thing with the first regulator. I don't think the regulator should have power to it unless it's running?

The carb has been tuned and adjusted, not that there's a whole lot to do to them. The problem was there before and after so I fairly certain it's not the carb but more of a electrical issue.

Good to hear it was a easy fix!! I feel the same way about those engines. My 1950 f1 sat for over 12 years and when I bought the truck the engine was stuck. I thought the worst but I pulled the plugs...

I agree on doing the transmission yourself. I tackled my 50 F1 last winter, complete tear down and rebuild it with parts from Van Pelts. Van Pelts was great to deal with. Just get a nice clean bench...

I did the conversion on my stock 1950 F1. I made my own adapter and used the 67-72 Mustang master and it works perfect.
