Re: Tudor Top Wood

Thanks guys. Would you agree that the wood at the corner bracket should be at least 2" wide? This kit was purchased from Bratton's, but not sure who actually makes it.

Tudor Top Wood

Hey guys! When installing the right and left side header boards, I'm finding that the boards are only about 1-1/2" wide at the header corner bracket. Since these boards are mounted with 2" bolts,...

Re: Body work

Thanks Terry. I think I'll at least take it down to the primer. Thoughts on paper/methods for removing the lacquer?

Also, can you elaborate on the two colors?

Re: Body work

My dad did the painting to this point and it's likely we'll finish it together.

Since things have changed so much since he last painted, I was hoping to get the groups thoughts on how to proceed.

Body work

So, I've gotten the sheet metal including the doors, cowl, hood, etc. fitting pretty well. In general, I believe the sheet metal is in pretty good shape. Part of the car has been painted black...

Hershey Navigation

OK, so last year I was completely overwhelmed and unprepared for the size of the fall meet in Hershey (first one) and spent my time just stumbling through. I understand that things are really...

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Well, I got an original splash shield and have the same problem. After looking a bit more, it seems like the mounting bolts/spacers I got from Macs vary in length. Obviously there are 2 long ones...

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Maybe I didn't explain correctly, but it's not the length of the sides, it's the hole placement.

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Thanks Tom, they do have a slight curve to them, but I'm wondering if I should ty to pick up a better one, maybe in Gettysburg. If not, any recommendations for a good repro? Thanks again.

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Thanks Ken, I appreciate that. I did some additional checking this morning.

This is a '30 Tudor. All fender bolts are loose and the light bar fits good. I ran a straight edge along the fender and...

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Seems like the holes are too close together which spreads the front point. I'll do some fiddling tomorrow and get better pics to share.

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Yes, as far as I know everything is original. The holes on the fenders line up perfectly with the frame and everything else looks good, just seems like the holes in the shield won't line up...

Re: Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

Sorry guys, can't understand why my pics are rotated.

I'll check the fit of the light bar tomorrow. It seems like the fender matches up well with most of the shield except for the forward...

Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

All,
In order to get the holes in the front fender to align with the splash shield holes, it seems like the splash shield doesn't fit the inside line of the fender correctly. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Body Alignment?

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I understand the shins now, but what I don't get is why is seems like the cowl needs shifted toward the passenger side? Like I said, on the driver side, the...

Body Alignment?

The hood on this thing is giving me fits, but could it be the body alignment? The hood fits really well on the passenger side. On the driver's side, it wants to overlap the radiator shell in the...

Head gasket? Rings?

Hi all. The A has recently started smoking, pretty badly and worse when I rev the engine. Also seem to be getting a lot of "moisture" out the exhaust. The black streams from around the head gasket...
