All good aviation retail companies sell a brass sediment bowl with a quick drain attachment on the bottom of the bowl. They are a push up drain type that will release crud, water, etc and self seal....

Had same problem.. fixed by a few turns of plumbers tape/ thread seal tape on the line just behind the ferrule and tighten as per usual. Job done.

To create an easy removal and less mess try a very thin "O" ring, ie. the rubber rings for sealing joints. I have even seen rubber band used as a stand by measure.
