when i have opened up the rolled edge on gauges i like to make a wooden fixture to hold it while i am working. a hole saw or an adjustable boring rig to get the size right. then its just patience...

also, the holes i plugged were in the block. 5 1/6, or 3/8 tap, i forget, allen head set screw locktite at deck surface or a smidge below

years ago when i put one of charlie yapps heads on my B motor i had leaks from those holes. had the head off twice. then called charle and he said "we always plug those holes" so, i did, problem...

my coupe had holes on each side. they looked like they had never been used, not likely, but i found that an 8-32 tap went in quite nicely,and thats the plan for now
