Ok. Measured the rod babbitts. The one closest to crank looked good.
Here's what I got.
1. No shim no foil. Snug fit, rod and piston where mounted on the underside of crank. Rod would stay in...

The cap is in the same condition as the rod. Shot.

No idea how many miles. Alot would be my best guess. These cars where beaters until 1961, when they opened up for being new cars in Norway....

Rod number 4 had approx 2mm/0.0787" play in it. Measured by eye.

Not at all, had some experts listening to it to get second opinions. We all think it sound like a rod. Have not inspected it yet.

It has to idle low to get it in gear, it goes chump chump chump, and you can count the bangs if you like.. Low revs, throw it in gear, hit the throttle before it stalls;)

That's pretty good news guys.
I don't scratch between gears, the problem is going into rev or first from a stop.
There where some slack (about an inch) i'll adjust it so it's almost gone and see...
