good photos rich. one of the ideas i liked in the the now gone video is, the guy made a 2x4 frame slightly bigger than the roof opening, then stretched and stapled his top fabric on the frame upside...

i would just look for the best bearing surface, and a good diameter would be the ones that measure to be round, or as close to it as possible. they wear on the bottom, and thats pretty forgiving so...

if you get the side cover off, look at the notch in the shift rail to see that its a nice machined, uniform looking notch and not worn on the sides. if you need a whole cover, i have too many, one...

in the photos where it shows the wishbone fitting very loose, it looks like the axle boss may be worn there. for fun, measure both sides and see if they are the same. thanks for the photos jerry !

bench grinder not very accurate unless you are very good at it. how about lug nuts re tapped for coarse thread?

if the axle wont lay flat on a table, its most likely not the wishbone. the deuces idea of tapered cones is good as you could use it on both king pin and perch pin holes

thats impossible, lathes are everywhere. how about wooden dowels with tape to shim up to size.
