When turning a corner the horn blows! I replaced the entire horn wire through the shaft. Determined that the relay is not doing it. How is that damn switch getting ground?:confused:

Yep, The top has early clamps and late weather striping.. Probably parts accumulated fro other cars and sources.. As long as it works. it's not a show car.
Now to figure out how to lift it enough to...

Standard shift. I have new chrome parts to install. Got the wheel,turn signal switch and mechanism off. Now how to get outer jacket parts off. ??:confused:

I found the Peacock blue! I removed the horn ring to find out why it was blowing the horn on left turns and low and behold.. the wheel had been painted.

Thanks guys. It's always fun to do the 'forensics" on cars I work on.
So if it is a mid year car it could have had a hard top with port hole and early hardware. It must have had a body off...

I have a 56 bird in the shop for some cosmetics. I notice that NPD lists parts by "early or late". How do you determine that? By vin # ? which by the way is

You say there is 3.3 volts after the condenser. Is that with the points closed? If so, perhaps your points are oxidized and need filed or replaced. car shoild start and run fine with no generator at...
