Re: Dual horns - Wiring
Thanks FlatheadTed and Rotorwrench. That is what I was wondering. So at rest with no power, there should be a gap between those points? There were two nuts on the stud. I am just trying to figure out...

Dual horns - Wiring
I bought these horns at a anitque shop. I don't think they are Ford, but they look like what is supposed to be stock on my 41. I need help with the wiring and operation of these. My one big question...

Re: Carburetor Issues - School me
Just as an update:
I took the carb off and cleaned it out. The throttle closed perfectly. It seemed that there was some gunk preventing it from closing fully.
Got it back on the car and found out...

Re: Carburetor Issues - School me
Is the throttle butterfly supposed to be fully closed with no air being able to get by at idle? Currently it has a slight gap, maybe 1/16" of an inch or less.

Carburetor Issues - School me
I have a 226 H-series in my 41 (not stock to car). It has the Holley 847 carburetor on it. Supposedly it was rebuilt, but I can not attest to the quality of the rebuild. It worked when I first put it...

Re: Rear Disc Brake Conversion
I have looked into this and have found nothing. I believe this is something that you would have to design yourself.
I was tinkering with this idea, but I am not a fabricator of any type, so making...

Re: newer two BBL carb
Speedway has an adapter:
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/GM-36-62-L6-2-Bolt-Small-Pattern-to-Stromberg-3-Bolt-Adapter,153284.html
but you will need another adapter to get it to sit properly on the...

Re: newer two BBL carb
I am tinkering with the idea of using the Autolite 1100 carburetor from a 65 Mustang 6 cylinder. It works with the loadamatic distributor and is a one barrel like the Holley 847. But as Cmbrucew...

Re: 1951 Starter 6&8
amodel25 is correct. The stock 6 cylinder starter will not interchange with the V8 starter. You will need to either get the correct gear or change your flywheel for the V8. I have a V8 flywheel on my...

Re: 226G vs 226H
It should actually be a pretty much direct swap. Your flywheel, bellhousing and motor mounts should all bolt to the H series engine. I had a V8 in mine and was able to use the flywheel. So a lot of...

Re: 226G vs 226H
I have an H in my 41. Like Rotorwrench said, I had to use the engine back plate and bellhousing from the truck as well as the motor mounts.
I believe the main differences between the G and H are the...

The long piece that goes across the dash. And actually the instrument cluster can be hard to find.

Re: Dual carb linkage
I did a Google search and found this on the HAMB.
It looks like you can use the stock linkage for your throttle and choke.

Re: New Member New car
Welcome to the Barn. Very nice 41.
The 41 is a special car. As for special parts, that dash trim piece can be hard to find. At least in one piece or the diecast piece. You can get it in two separate...

Re: Dual exhaust system 1948 ford with headers
I think all shops are going to be different. It depends on their reputation and quality of work. I went to two places near me a while back. One was well know and the other was a hole in the wall Ma...
