620BS was actually for Hydroplanes and dad would spin them 7600+ rpm.
The 620B is more of a Midget Cam, more torque.
There was also a 620-03 and 620.
The 404jr was the wildest of all the 60 cams....

What would a set of Mushroom cost/worth?


Lifter bores are already undercut for them.

Aluminum Cam gears were aftermarket only.
The OEM Fiber Gears would wear out quickly or break under the. "RACE CAM" spring pressures when turning them 7000rpm.
Was a guy in California remaking them...

The 60 didn't show up in the U.S. till 1937

Why replace the valves?
Valves & guides are out there.
Factory V860 Valves are STAINLES STEEL
Dad made up a set of 1pc Press in Guides and had Ferrea make a set of Oversize Intake Valves. Problem...

I reached a road block with the reprint. Had the 1st few pages scanned from my book. They looked like scans/photocopies.
Was not happy with the resaults.
Spent $120.00 to get dad's computer fixed...

Than onto Dad's stash of the good stuff (.010, .020, .030,... 37 & 40 Bearings)

Have 3 Blue boxes marked-
92-A-6211- F
I can't find the "F" suffix anywhere.
Its a 40 style bearing with NO sides...

Ol Ron there are 4 versions of the U.S. V860.
Tin Side (actually stainless steel) were casted in 36.
37 Iron Side (casted in 37 and used for 37-38-early 39)
40 Iron Side (casted in 39)

Tapping off the oil pressure feed will only filter 30% of the oil if your lucky.
Remember a oil pump on a 60 is UP FRONT driven by the crank. So the oil has to travel through the whole motor to get...

7600rpm all day long in the Hydroplane and would bump 8000rpm when it hopped out of the water.
In the AARA a few of dad's 60s would go all season turning 7500rpm but would need RINGS by the fall...
