It does have a grease zerk in the middle of the torque tube...sounds like ive likely got a 6 spline.

My 46 is stamped on the frame rail where the steering box mounts. It was completely invisible until I went to town with some gas and scotch bright and still had a heck of a time....

True...but alot of older 4x4 Fords had a divorced transfer case. Rather or not you could ever get a factory BW O/D with a 4x4 i dont know.

All 49-51 manual trans both O/D and NON O/D are the same length from bell mounting flange to the end of the tailshaft. Therefore as long as you use a 49-51 O/D you can reuse your original driveshaft...

Its hard if not impossible to find parts made in the US anymore. I'm guessing options for better quality parts (Napa/Car Quest..etc) is going to be even harder to find if the news I heard yesterday...
